Let us pick up your compost!
Get a month of pickups free when you sign up for a year!
We offer weekly and every-other-week curbside service for apartments and houses in most of Franklin County—and soon, Amherst and Holyoke! We even provide you with a 5-gallon bucket and compostable bags because we want to make it easy for you to do your part to keep food scraps out of landfills and incinerators, where they create methane and contribute to climate change.
Please note: the co-op provides one bucket free of charge to new customers. After that, you may purchase additional buckets through our website, or use your own food-grade 5-gallon bucket and resealable lid.
Customers pre-pay one month in advance. Refer a new customer and both of you will receive a gift!
Our rates are:
- $165 yearly for every-other-week service
- The cost is normally $180 for a full year
- $264 yearly for weekly service
- The cost is normally $288 for a full year
Or, just pay monthly: Go here to see our month-to-month options.
How does it work?
When you sign up for our service, we will drop off at your address a 5-gallon bucket and compostable bags one or two weeks before the service starts, depending on whether you order weekly or every-other-week pickups.
Pickups take place on Mondays in Greenfield; on Thursdays in Gill, Great Falls, Montague, Wendell, and now Amherst and Holyoke! We usually pick up on public holidays, and will let you know in advance.
The night before the morning of your pickup, you’ll set out on the curb your 5-gallon bucket filled with compostables—including bones, meat, paper towels, tea bags, even pizza boxes. We’ll swing by, dump and return the bucket, leaving a new bag on the handle. Click here to see what you can put in your bucket. No plastic please!
